One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest:
- Masculinity is represented as pasive in contrast to stereotypical cinema representations, as the male characters are presented as weak and vulnerable because of their illnesses and by Nurse Ratched's Oppression
- Mc Murphy changes this slowly by showing the others the power he has through rebellion. This could be a link from Forman to Praugue Springs in Czechoslovakia in which the Soviet Union brutally suppressed a rebellion in Czechoslovakia and later banned films such as Formans film "The Fireman's Ball".
- Nurese Ratched deniees them watching a game and so makes Mc Murphy powerless and takes away his masculinty making him and the others 'metaphorically castrated'
