The Falsification Principle

The Falsification Principle is considered a more serious challenge to the meaningfulness of RL than the Verification Principle. It was developed by Anthony Flew in the 1950's. The Falsification Principle states that in order to be meaningful, you must be able to prove that a statement is either true or false (the statement must be falsifiable). This means that any statement that cannot be proven either true or false, according to the Falsification Principle, cannot be deemed meaningful.
