Evolution

• The theory of evolution was outlined and published by Charles Darwin.
  • The theory that all living creatures today have been evolved over a period of time ( perhaps 1 million years), by natural selection

• He was a science graduate but also a Christian and had no intentions to challenge Christian beliefs, however, many Christians believe that:
  • TOE went against the religious teachings that God made the earth and created all living things.
  • God has created humans in his own image, humans were superior to all other creatures and had a soul that is immortal.
  • TOE changed the idea that God is the designer of the universe, and its complexity, beauty, and order is evidence of this.
  • God created the perfect environment for living things, so the idea that they adapt to their environment is opposed.
