Differences among Christians in their attitudes to other religions

Catholics and many other Christians believe that people can come to God through different religions, but only Christianity has the full truth (inclusivism). They have this attitude because:

  • It is the teaching of the Church in the Catechism.
  • They believe Jesus is the Son of God who shows what God is like.
  • The Bible teaches that Christianity has the full truth and that salvation (going to heaven) comes through believing in Jesus, though God can be contacted by other religions.
