Immanuel Kant put forward a criticism towards Descartes' form of the ontological srgument. Kant objected that it was innaccurate to describe existence as a perfection
- The reasons for this were that the perfections Descartes was referring to were attributes or 'predicates'
- Existence, according to Kant, could not be a predicate because existence can be a thing that an object can possess/lack but does not describe anything about the nature of that object
