Matza  - "Drift Theory"

Drift theory.  The theory that (particularly "young" people) 'drift' in and out of crime, providing that you have Hirshi's bonds of attachment to society and you don't feel like you have to commit to societys goals through illegitiment means, then you will likely only commit small amounts of crime every now and then due to the spontaneous nature of crime, often spurred by boredom.
