LTM duration: up to a lifetime. Harry Bahrick and colleagues (75) tested 379 patients between ages of 17-74 on a photo recognition testEvaluation: participants who were tested wtithin 15 years of graduation had 90% accuracy while those who were tested 48 or more years after graduation had 70% accuracy. Thi shows that LTM can last a long time. one strength is that it has high external validity meaning it can apply to real  life meaningful situations but the downside is that Bahrick's participants may have looked a their yearbook prior to the experiment and therefore rehearsed their memory over the years.
