- Some oils can be extracted from nuts and seeds rich in vegetable oil- by crushing and pressing
- or can be extracted by distilling plant material and water then seperating oil from mixture
- vegetable oils provide us a lot of energy but also burn in the air to produce energy
- vegetables used for biofuels and biodiesel
- vegetable oils have hydrocarbon chains WITH DOUBLE BOND so theyre alkenes (unsaturated)---so they decolourise bromine water
- unsaturated fats are believed to be better for your health than saturated
- saturated fats are linked to heart disease
