1.Giant Covalent Structures 

  • Diamond - Diamond is a form of carbon which each carbon atom is joined to four other carbon atoms forming a giant covalent structure/lattice.Diamond is very hard and has a high melting point. 

Properties of Diamond 

- It has a very high melting point (almost 4000*) which makes diamond very hard, the carbon covalent bonds have to be brocken by a high force of energy and temperature.
