By 1944 it was not entirely clear what the war was being fought for. At first It had been over Poland, however Poland's whishes had then been subsequently ignored, and russia had become a threat, this initself was shown by Stalins treatment of the Polish people after the annexatation in 1939 many people were deported to Kazakhstan and northan European Russia.

Britain had previously been seen as a defender of Civilized values however had subjected the German people and cities to heavy bombing, which did not effect Morale and only caused a heavy loss of life, the bombing of Dresdan was particually critizied as it had been harbouring many refugees and…
