97% of samples showed the predicted sex difference emerged as females rated 'good financial prospects' in a mate more highly than males did. The Spanish was the only exception to this, as the sample did show a difference between males and females but it was not significant. 

Regarding ambition and industriousness, 92% of samples showed that females expressed a higher valuation in a mate, which was the predicted direction. In 29 samples, this difference was significant. 

In 3 samples, those from Colombia, Spain and South African Zulus, the opposite sex difference was found (males rated ambition and industriousness more highly than females.) Although, it was only significant in the Zulu sample.

In all 37 samples, both males and females preferred the male to be the older partner in the relationship. The mean ideal…
