Biome: A biome is an ecosystem that covers a lot of space (eg. Rainforest, Tundra and Tropical Grassland; Savanna) 

Biosphere: The living layer of the Earth between the lithosphere and the atmosphere. 

Each biome on the planet is determined by where its location is latitudinally, the climate, the temperature and the precipitation (rain) levels. 

Latitudes:  

• Tropical rainforests: Found in between the tropics (Cancer and Capricorn) in South America, Asia and Africa 
• Taiga: Found in Northern; Canada, Russia and Europe. 

Climate: 

• Affects the biome due to the amount of plants that grow.
