STIMULUS a change in the environment to which an organism reacts.
RECEPTOR
(sense organ) is the sensitive part of the body which reacts to a stimulus.
EFFECTOR part of the body which does the response.
in general, its a muscle or a gland (liver, pancreas, adrenals...)

NERVOUS coordination & processing appropriate respsonses

stimulus> receptor> sensory nerve cell> the nervous system> motor nerve cell> effector> response

E.G: heat> heat sensory cells> sensory nerve cell> the nervous system> motor nerve cell>
