Respiration:
- Respiration(aerobic) occurs in the mitochondria. Durig this process, energy is released from glucose.
What is energy used for?
Energy is used for:
- Cell division
- Active Transport
- Transmission of nerve impulses
- Keep conditions in the body constant, e.g temperature. (homeostatis)
Aerobic respiration:
- This is the release of energy using oxygen(glucose is oxidised)
- The first stages of respiration occurs in the cytoplasm of cells, but most of the energy is released is in the mitochondria.
