What is ethics?

Ethics is a group of moral principles or set values that define or direct us to the right choice.

The Right To Withdraw

The right to withdraw: Making participants aware that they are free to leave a study at anytime even if we've paid them. They can also refuse for their data to be used.

Protection From Harm

Protection from harm: Participants pshychological and physiological safety must be ensured, we cannot expose them to greater risk than their normal life experiences.

Informed Consent

Informed consent: Participants should be briefed with as much information as possible about the study so they can make an informed judgement as to whether to take part or not, if it is a child, parents/carers must be briefed to make the judgement on the childs behalf.

Deception

Deception: Deception is a methodological technique whereby a participant is not made fully aware of the specific purposes of the study or is misinformed.

Confidentiallity

Confidentiallity: Confidentiallity means that information between a participant and a pshychologist cannot be shared with anyone.
