"yea more than married are"

  • The addition of the religious terminology is to make the women that the speaker is adressing feel obliged to sleep with him.
  • The speaker wants to tell the woman that because their blood is mixed, theyre basically married.

THE GREAT GATSBY

  • This can link to how Gatsby considers Daisy, wanting the thoughts of marriage (loving each other and nobody else), yet still having thos 5 year gap where they didnt see each other.

"Our marriage bed, and marriage..."

  • Linking to a "temple" suggests god-like sex.
  • Again, adding the religion to make the woman more preassured into sleeping with this man.

THE GREAT GATSBY

  • The repetition in the poem's quotation suggests a sense of despitation, linking to Gatsby's despriation to be with Daisy.
