Sunni & Shia [Differences]

Sunni

• Believe that Abu Bakr was the rightful leader of Islam after Muhammed
• Pray 5 individual times a day
• Pray with their arms crossed
• Follow the 5 pillars
• Believe they will see god in the afterlife
• Imams are simply a person who leads prayer

Shi'a

• Believe that Ali was the rightful leader of Islam after Muhammed
• Pray 3 times a day but 2 prayers are done in two sets.
• Pray with their arms by their side
• Follow the 5 pillars and 10 Shi'a practises 
• Do not believe they will see god in the afterlife
• Imams are sinless and divinely guided by god [leader of the religion] 'The 12 Imams'
