Physical Abuse

1. Unexplained injures. eg. finger marks, bruises, black eye, bites or slap marks. 

2. Individual becoming: anxious or fearful when in precence of abuser, less confident, deterioration in health, relucantce to undress in front of others.

Sexual abuse

1. Bruises, scratches, soreness or bleeding aroung genital and rectal areas, stomach pains. 

2. Becoming withdrawn, anxious, frustrated, relucatance to undress.

Emotional abuse

1. Individual avoiding making eye contact, fearful, self harming, feeling unworthy.

2. Displaying changes in eating, sleeping, low self- esteem, agressive.

Neglect abuse

1. Poor standards of hygiene. eg. malnourishment, unexplained injuries, dehyrdration. 

2. Becoming anxious, depressed, suicdal thoughts, withdrawn.

Finanacial abuse

1. Unexplained lack of money or wish to spend money. Sudden debts and unpaid bills. 

2. Becoming anxious over money and talking aobut not being able to pay bills etc.

Instituitonal abuse

1. Poor working practices and low standards of care and support. Inadequate staffing. Failure to uphold individuals rights to choice, privacy and dignity. 

2. Becoming withdrawn, passive, frustrated, feeling isolated, social withdrawal, loosing interest in themselves and others.

Bullying abuse

1. Unexplained physical injuries. Asking for or stealing money to give to bully, self harming. 

2. Becoming fearful of going out, anxious, low self esteem.

Discrimination abuse

1. Failure to respect an individuals needs, intolerant attitude towards individual. 

2. Withdrawn from people and situations, anxious, low- self esteem, frustrated.

Explotation abuse

1. Unexplained physical injuries, bills not being paid, loosing weight. 

2. Withdrawn from people and situations. Low self esteem, mood swings, changes in friends
