ARONSON-THE JIGSAW TECHNIQUE

Aronson was given the task of eliminating prejudice between black and white students in a school in texas he developed a technique called the jigsaw technique which involved the students being in mixed race groups and taking responsibility for a part of the lesson they had to become experts on their part and then pass on this knowledge to their peers aronson interveiwed the children afterwards and found that this method has enhanced their self esteem increased their liking of thir classmates and had improved their perceptions of the other racial group within the class

Evaluation- Positive perceptions of the other children from different races may not be applaied outside the classroom

Practical implication- This suggests that within the school and workplaces prejudice can be reduced but it may not be applied outside school or work
