Advantages:
- Natural reserves of metal ores last longer.
- Less mining, meaning less land destruction, noise produced and dust pollution.
- Less pollution produced.
- Less energy used to recycle, more used to extract.
- Less metal wasted and left in landfill sites.
Disadvantages:
- Costly - Transporting and sorting what's recyclable costs losts of money.
- Sometimes recycling requires more energy than extraction.
- Transporting metals causes pollution.
