AS examples

1. Genre, Silence of the Lambs.

Phsychological thriller. Characters had to show personal traits. Dark and sinister. Isn't clear to audience.

2. Mise en Scene, The Purge.

Lighting, low key. Costumes, appears casual to fit in with society. Location, modern/urban setting.

3. Camera movement, Arlington Road.

Quick camera movements. Obscured shots. Different points of view (what the audience and main character sees). Builds tension and question.

A2 examples

1. Music, KidUltHood.

Dramatic, tense, loud, fast tempo. Used this in second half of teaser trailer to show the crime aspect to our character. Music links with characters.

2. Poster, American Gangster.

Low Key lighting. Dark background, sinister. Characters shown in black and white. Main image is the focus, not additional text.

3. Magazine, Sight and Sound.

Layout, main image, masterhead, main coverline conventions. Medium close up of actor, character, producer. Lighting on face. Colour scheme. Dark background
