Physical Attractiveness

  • Feingold (1992) said that we are likely to attribute good characteristics to someone who is physically attractive:-The HALO EFFECT.
  • Kenrick and Trost (1997) suggest that physical attractiveness has an important evolutionary significance because people who are seen as attractive generally possess characteristics that will guarantee breeding success.
  • The Matching Hypothesis (Walster 1966) suggests that we are attracted to those who closely match perceptions of oir own level of attractivness.
