Advantages & disadvantages of compensatory policie

ADVANATAGES OF COMPENSATORY POLICIES (EMA, EAZ and SURE START)

- EMA increases participation in further education, particulary boys.

- EAZ shows some improvement at KS1

- SURE START difficult to asses impact.

DISADVANTAGES OF COMPENSATORY POLICIES

- EMA student could be motivated by money rather than achievement.

- EAZ dont make up for the economic and social disadvantage

- SURE START is used by middle class parents.

- Specialist schools can focus on their strengths

- These schools have an unfair advantaage of extra funding.
