Multi-store model of memory

Split into Sensory store+Short term memory+Long term memory
Sensory store constantly recieves information but none of the information is saved unless one pays attention to it.
If information is paid attention to, the information then enters STM
Whilst information is in STM, it is at a very fragile state so therefore rehearsal is needed to maintain and move information into LTM
Information in STM could also dissappear if other information enters STM (displacing or pushing it out)
Maintence rehearal is rehearsal that helps information stay in LTM. largely verbal
