Acicliuir

Antiviral medicine, used for patients with an immune deficiency.

Side effects:

  • Eye inflammation
  • Eye pain
  • Nausea
  • Photosensitivity 
  • Skin reactions
  • Vomiting 
  • Abdomen paini 

IV: 12hrs25ml-50ml/min

Oral: 8hrs 10ml-25ml/min

Allopurinol

Prophylaxsis of gout and of uric acid and calcium oxalate renal stones. Prophylaxsis of hyperuricaemia associated with chemotherapy.

Side effects:

  • Rash- if rash occurs discontinue treatment, if mild reintroduce the treatment with caution, disontinue if rash reoccurs
  • Use with caution renal implant

Filgrastim (GCSF)

Reduction in neutropenia and incidence of febrile neutropenia in cytotoxic chemotherapy for malignancy. (Except chronic myeloid leuakemia and myeloclysplastic syndrome)

  • Anaemia
  • Diarrhoea
  • Dysuria 
  • Haemorrhage 
  • Hepatomegaly 
  • Hyperuricaemia
  • Hypotension
  • Oesteoperosis 
  • Rash

Ondansetron

Specific 5HT3- receptor antagonist which blocks 5HT3 receptor in the gastro-intestinal tract and in the CNS 

Side effects:

  • Constipation
  • Feeling hot 
  • Headache 
  • Sensation abnormal

Cyclizine

Anti-sickness ( Nausea, vomiting, vertigo, motion sickness, layrinthine disorders)

50 mg 3x a day (for motion sickness take two hours before traveling)

IV: 50mg three times a day

Fluconazole

Fungal treatment medication 

150mg for one dose 

Side effects :

  • Anaemia 
  • Appetite decrease
  • Asthenia 
  • Constipation
  • Drowsiness 
  • Dry mouth
  • Fever
  • Hyperhidrosis 
  • Insomnia 
  • Malaise 
  • Myalgia

Dexamethasone

Very high glucocorticoid activity and insignificant mineracorticoid activity 

Supression of inflammatory and allaergic disorders
