recognise types of angles
90degrees=?
smaller than 90degrees=?
180degrees=?
bigger than 180 but smaller than 360degrees=?
bigger than 90 but smaller than 180degrees=?
90 degrees=right angle.
smaller than 90degrees=acute angle.
180degrees=straight line.
bigger than 180 but smaller than 360degrees=reflex angle
bigger than 90 but smaller than 180degrees=obtuse angle.
parrallel and perpendicular lines and angles
vertically opposite angles are...?
Alternate angles are..?
corresponding angles are...?
whats the tranversal line..?
definition of perpendicular..?
equal
equal
equal
- a line that cuts through parallel lines
-at right angles; two lines at right angles to eachother
Recognise triangle types
Isosceles?
Equilateral?
Scalene?
Right triangle?
Isosceles-2 sides are congruent
Equilateral-all the sides are congruent, all angles are congruent
Scalene-none of the sides are congruent, no congruent angles
Right triange-right angle(90degrees)
Expanding brackets, and collecting like terms.
a(a) = ?
5(2) = ?
5(a) = ?
a(b) = ?
5(a+2) = ?
a(a) = a*a = a to the power of 2.
5(2) = 5*2 = 10
5(a) = 5*a = 5a
a(b) = a*b + ab
5(a+2) = 5a+10
5(a) + 5(2) = 5a + 10
Area of triangles, trapeziums and kites.
Area of a triangle?
Area of a trapezium?
Area of a kite?
Area of triangle = bass times height divided by 2
Area of a kite= half the product of its diagonals.
Area of a trapezium=half the sum of the parrallel sides times the perpendicular height
Circumfrence using pie=3.14
whats a circumfrence?
whats the radius?
whats the diameter?
whats the tangent line?
circumfrence=perimetre of a circle
radius=distance from centre of a circle to the exterior
diameter=twice the size of the radius, chord which passes through the centre
tangent line= the line that goes all the way around the circle on the outside
pie=3.14 method
Example: diameter=7
To find the Circumfrence= pie times diamerter (pie*d) = 3.14*7
semi-circle:
C=pie*d divided by 2 then make sure to ADD the diameter.
shapes and there angle measurements
4sides=quadrilateral=360degrees
5sides=pentagion=540degrees
6sides=hexagon=720degrees
7sides heptagon=900degrees
technical terms for linear graphs
m=?
c=?
gradient=?
m=gradient
c= y intercept
gradient=rise/run
Inverse operation!
TIP: WHAT EVER YOU DO TO ONE SIDE YOU HAVE TO DO TO THE OTHER.
Example:
6+a=11
-6 -6
left with a=5 = the answer
inverse operations:
+ -
- +
times divide

C GRADE EXAMPLE
4 2y
-- = ----
3 9
*9 *9
4 9
-- * --- = 2y
3 1
36
---- = 2y
