Chapter 1 quotes

The boys are introduced by appearance and we see differences in Ralph and Piggy

"Fatly naked" "Ralph's golden body"

"I used to get ever so many sweets" "He might make a boxer"

Jack is presented as a dangerous character from the beginning

"Ugly without silliness" - Jack is not a friendly person

"Tall, thin and bony" - Description of Jack's body 

"Two light blue eyes" - Innocent eyes but a hatred inside of him that isn't yet shown

Roger is also dangerous from the outset

"Furtive boy whom no one knew" - he has something to hide and he's an outsider from the beginning
