  • 85 kilos and upward to 105 kilos before they go for meat
  • First 6 weeks Delta Finish 30
    • protein = 19.7% 
    • ME = 14MJ
    • Lysine = 1.15%
  • once they reach around 70kg, Delta Finish 40
    • protein = 17%
    • ME = 13.6MJ
    • Lysine = 1.05%

Five Different Groups: Farrowing/Suckling Sows

  • before piglet is weaned, but before they give birth
  • once piglets are weaned, she has half the amount for 28 days
  • ad-lib straw
  • fed manually, twice per day
  • diet - Supa Lac Cake
    • high protein for maximum milk production
    • protein = 16%
    • ME = 13.5MJ
    • Lysine = 0.85%
  • 0.5kg of feed more for every day, for an average of 10 piglets

Five Different Groups: Dry Sows

  • Fed only once per day
  • Enough for maintenance plus a little more for developing young.
  • After farrowing for the first 7 days, she has 5kg of Lac Sow.
  • Then dry sow cake for 108 days 2.5 – 3kg
    • Protein = 14.5%
    • ME = 12.5MJ
    • Lysine = 0.55%
  • Ad-lib straw
  • Semi-automatic system

Five Different Groups: Boars

  • Kept solitary as they tend to fight.
  • Mature males
  • Fed 3kg of the dry sow feed per day
  • Maintenance plus a little more to keep fitness and sperm quality.
  • Scatter feed as there is no competition for feed.
