Controlling blood sugar

Insulin controls blood sugar level

  • Eating foods that are high in simle sugars, cause your blood sugar level to rise rapidly
  • This is because because simple sugars are disgested and absorbed into blood really quickly
  • The level of sugar in your blood needs to be kept steady - your body uses insulin to control it
  • When the blood sugar level gets too high, the pancreas releases insulin which causes sugar to be removed from the blood

The blood sugar levels then fall again
