MALTHUSIAN THEORY:

- population went up geometrically, 2,4,8,16 (2 people would have 4 children and the 4 children would have 8 children and so on.

- food production would go up like 1,2,3,4,etc due to improvements that happen slowly

- resulting in famines that would occur to limit population size naturally

- the poor should realise that having lots of children was only making them poorer

- population growth forces people to be inventive and find ways to increase food production

- population growth is a good thing - essential to human progress.
