Siegfried Sassoon - influential poet, writer and soldier. Awarded MC and recommended for VC. 'Suicidal raids.' Patriot. Made a declaration and opposed the war, sent to Craiglockhart Hospital.

R.C. Sherriff - His seventh play, Journey's End, was written in 1928 and published in 1929 and was based on his experiences in the war as a captain.

Robert Graves - Poet, soldier, friend of Sassoon, helped send him to Craiglockhart. Suffered from Shellshock- though never hospitilized.

Erich Maria Remarque - German. Soldier, fought in the war, however, was severely injured and remained in hospital for the remainder of the war.
