Chemical Properties of Enzymes

Enzymes are protein molecules made up of long chains of amino acids.

Because of this, they are affected by temperatures. At low temps, they are not reactive due to the lack of energy, and at high temps the heat changes its shape, denaturing it.

Enzymes are also sensitive to pH changes.
