Keyterms

Isomers-same molecular formula, different structural arrangement.

Glycosidic bond-Covalent bond formed when carbonate molecules are joined during condensation reactions.

Condensation reaction-A reaction in which two molecules are covalently bonded, and a water molecule is lost.

Keyterms;

Hydrolysis reaction-A molecule is broken down into 2 smaller ones by the addition of water and breaking of a covalent bond.

Monosaccharide- A simple sugar molecule

Disaccharide-2 monosaccharides joined by a glycosidic bond.

Polysaccharide-Many monosaccharide monomers joined together by covalent bonds.

Keyterms;

Hydrogen bond-Weak bond formed by partially positively charged groups coming close to partially negativelu charged groups (seen in water molecules +Secondary/Tertiary structures pf proteins)
