ATP and the light dependant reaction

All living organisms require energy to stay alive, this ebergy initially comes from the sun. Plants use solar energy to combine water and CO2 into complex organic molecules to make ATP, this is used as the energy source to carry out processes that are essential to life.

Energy and Metabolism

The flow of energy in living systems occurs in three stages:

1. Light energy from the sun is converted by plants into chemical energy during photosynthesis

2.The chemical energy from photosynthesis, in the form of organic molecules, is converted into ATP during respiration in all cells

3. ATP is used by cells to perform useful work
