LAB EXPERIMENT 

• 210 psychology students split into two groups -one played mist -one played wolfenstein 3Ds 
• a false aim was told to participant
• played video game in cubicle for 15 mins against (non existant) opponent 
• after 15 mins told to play competitively against opponent and winner gets to give a noise punishment 
• experimenter measured how loud and how long each individuals noise punishment was 

longest / loudest punishments given by violeent game players 

• women gave bigger punishments than men 

• playing violent video game affected aggression level 

• videos made ppl think in an aggressive

• long term use of video games could cause permenant change in aggressive thought patterns
