Kristallnacht
Kristallnacht or The Night of Broken Glass was triggered by the assassination of Ernst
vom Rath in Paris he was assassinated by Herschel Grynszpan who was a
GermanBorn Polish Jew. It was the start of the Anti Jew campaign in Nazi Germany. It
is estimated that 91 Jewish people were killed. Between 25'000 and 30'000 Jewish
people were arrested and put into concentration camps.
The campaign was carried out by the Hitler Youth, the Gestapo and the SS. These
people did not care about the violence used on the Jewish people however there were
special orders from Adolf Hitler for them not to harm his pure Aryan race. These people
destroyed 267 Synagogues and thousands of Jewish homes and businesses were
ransacked.
The assassination of Rath gave Hitler his excuse to begin persecuting the Jewish race.
Many Historians view Kristallnacht as the beginning of the `Final Solution', during WW2
the persecution of Jews was known as the `Holocaust'.tallnacht
