Witch Hunting in the Early Modern period
The Early Modern Period is the term given to the era from the 16th century to the 18th century, with the outward parameters being 1500-1800, as is generally accepted by historians although the dates can change roughly by a few years either way, depending on opinion. The Early Modern Period is the age that saw the significant rise of witch hunts, their popularity and decline, although various concepts of witchcraft had existed pre-1500, and continued to exist post-1800.
