Development (Growth & change)

Other information

  • Romeo learns the difference between love and lust, he starts off very emasculate and immature, he would fight anyone if they got in his way. As the story progresses and Romeo meets Juliet, you see a reckless side of him, he does not seem to care of the consequences, just as long as he is happy with his love, this could be depicted as immature. We see a much happier side of Romeo. He may have been seen as cowardly when he decided not to fight with Tybalt but the readers know that it was the mature thing to do. All he wanted to do is be with his wife and not part with her even at death and this criteria was accomplished but not in the way that he had expected.
  • His best friend Mercutio was killed partly because of him
  • Benvolio and Mercutio where his best friends
  • He belonged to the Montague family
  • He was in love with Juliet who was a Capulet, the enemy family
  • Mercutio did not belong to and family but Benvolio was Romeo's cousin making him a Montague
