REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY

Advantages

people can be too busy to be involved in political issues so they can elect representatives to act on their behalf
representatives have more experience and knowledge than the rest of the population
representatives make decisions so they can be made accountable for their decisions whereas the people as a whole, cant
representatives can educate the public about political issues
representatives are more informed so they can make decisions for the good

Disadvantages

might ignore or distort demands of people to suit their own political advantage
representatives might follow their party instead of representing their constituents accurately
could lead to political conflict
representatives might make all the decisions so people might not be/get involved
elected by majority so minority's voice may not be heard

Evaluation

Representative democracy doesn't represent the people.once the election is over representatives tend to ignore the voters. once in power, they do want they want to suit their needs
