Role
  • Hyde is "sinful" according to the Victorian standards and is often compared to an animal as he behaves in an extremely animalistic manner. He doesn't behave like a dignified Victorian gentleman. He is the complete opposite to Jekyll's good side and is completely immersed in evil. we see this throughout the novella through his atrocious acts.
  • .He plays an important role in the novella as he represents the whole idea of duality throughout the novella.

  • hyde always remains purely evil in the novella as he is portrayed as jekylls bad side of his personality.
  • As the novel progresses, Hyde's evil becomes more and more pronounced.
