  • Changes from a kind man to one of cruelty.
  • Started with a lot of friends and people who trusted him, and ended up with none.
  • Let his weakness for power control him more and more as the play goes on.
  • Often considered to be controlled by Lady Macbeth (depending on whether the book is read in a feminist view or not).
  • The witches are also often blamed as a cause for his behaviour.
