Overall summary

Port-au-Prince had never had an earthquake before 12th January 2010. Epicentre 25km from Port-au-Prince. Focus was 13km underground. Measured 7.0 on Richter scale. Weren't prepared in 2010 and the houses weren't built to withstand. Responses - immediate, bottled water and water purification tablets were supplied to survivors. Food aid cluster set up to feed 2 million people.Long term - debris cleared by American engineers and diving teams. USA sent ships, helicopters, 10,000 troops and $100million in aid.
