  • Easily replaced and upgraded

Disadvantages

  • Relies on moving parts
  • Disk surface can be damaged
  • Heavy power consumption
  • Noisy
  • Slower read and write speed than RAM

Evaluation

A hard disk drive (HDD) is good as it can contain a lot of data as is faster than DVD's. It is also able to be easily changed which is good as technology is always changing so this is handy. However, it can be damaged and it does need a lot of power to work.

I understand that HDD presents some risks and needs a lot of power to work properly. However, it has many other advantages that were not stipulated. Firstly, everything works way faster. Secondly, you can get deleted files back. My computer had **** down once, and when I reopened it, nothing was there. But I did have everything backed up on the HDD. So I used https://www.salvagedata.com/memory-card-recovery/ to get them back. The DVD doesn’t present such things. Besides, if you use it properly and have a good computer, it won’t burn.
