Global governance/intervention

Advantages

  • Can help to protect human rights
  • Aid
  • Shelter
  • food security
  • Organisations such as WHO can help contain disease outbreaks e.g. set up cholera treatment centres
  • Can train villagers in sustainable fishing/farming

Disadvantages

  • Can cause more issues if the government in the area of conflict isn't cooperative
  • civilian casualties
  • population displacement
  • escalation of violence
  • can put volunteers at risk

Evaluation

If the government cooperates with the intervention and aid provided it can have many positive impacts on civilians, some of which are long term and can contribute to later stability. For example teaching villagers sustainable fishing.farming can increase food security in the future. Overall, I believe that global governance has more positive impacts than negative impacts.
