Advantages
- Biodiesel less harmfull to wildlife if spillled than crude oil
- Biodiesel burns more cleanly in an engine: reducing particulates emitted+ makes little sulfur dioxide.
- Biodiesel will become cheaper when crude iol runs out (their prices will rise).
- Carbon neutral crops: crops absorb as much carbon dioxide as they give off when burned. But still do give off a little CO

Disadvantages
- Still produce carbon dioxide: fertilizing/ harvesting; processing biofuel; transportation.
- Use farmland: famers turn food land into fuel land
- -> famine in poor countries as food prices will rise.
- Forests may be used to grow biofuels -> cant absorb as much carbon dioxide
- Habitats destroyed for biofuel crops e.g tropical forests.
