      • Responses fell into 2 categories: social roles and personality traits
        • Social role: Parts we are ascribed or have achieved (eg. daughter/ vet)
        • Personality traits: What we think we are like (eg. confident)
      • On average the 7 year olds wrote 5 social roles, and the undergraduates 10
      • When we get older, we describe ourselves in terms of status
      • This shows how we can distinguish between our different selves
