    • The Tsar's autocratic government ensured that he could remain in power

      • There was unrest amongst the peasants because they were taxed on the produce that they made
    • Revolutionary movements
      • Most of the leaders were in exile
      • Revolutionary ideals were spreading throughout Russia
    • The 1905 revolution
      • Showed what might be coming in the future
      • Revolutionaries could have learned from the mistakes made in the 1905 revolution
