    • this is used as an altentive way tocaluclate reacting masses
    • the moler mass of a substance is the same as the substances toal of all the elments that make it reltive formula masses
    • mass is conserved during the reaction therfore the molear mass of the product is equal tho the reactants
    • to caluclate the no of moles of a substance you must get the molar mass and dvide iy by the acultual mass of the substance
    • the reltive atomic mass is found by comearing the mas to the mass of 1/12 of the masss of a carbon atom
    • calculate mass of products and/or reactants using the mole concept from a given balanced equation and the appropriate relative atomic masses
