- Capulet is trying the rush the marriage between Paris and Juliet.
- Due to complications between Tybalts death, Capulet wants the marriage to go ahead to try and get back onto the good side of the Prince.
- Capulet understands that Paris is an important part of the family and that it would give the Capulet a stronger relationship with the Prince, this is important for social standings.
- It is important for Paris to marry Juliet due to his social standing and the advantages it would give Capulet.
- After Tybalts death, Capulet realises that life is so short and that the marriage to Paris must go ahead immediately. Juliet cannot wait two more years, as he proposed a short time ago to Paris in the play.
- Capulet doesn't give the feelings of Juliet a thought at all and by-passes her in the decision making of the date of her marriage.
- Capulet questions whether Paris will be ready before questioning whether Juliet will be.
- Capulet is trying the rush the marriage between Paris and Juliet.
