- Infrared Radiation
- Greenhouse effect
- Greenhouse gases
- Methane
- Carbon Dioxide
- Water vapour
- Greenhouse gasses make the earth warmer than it would be without an atmosphere
- The sun emits short waves of infrared radiation, which pass through the glass and warms up the objects inside. The objects then emit longer waves of infrared radiation which cannot pass through the glass, keeping the greenhouse warm.
- Greenhouse = Earths Atmosphere
- Greenhouse gases
- More Heat = More Infrared Radiation
- The hotter an object is the more infrared radiation it will emit.
- Emit = Give out
- We can reduce the production of greenhouse gases by reducing our use of fossil fuels
- Electromagnetic waves are electric and magnetic waves that travel through space.
- Electromagnetic spectrum
- X-Rays
- Ultraviolet waves

- Visible light
- Microwaves
- Radiowaves
